British Canoeing PaddleSport Instructor Award.

The Paddlesport Instructor Award is designed for instructors running paddlesport taster/starter sessions within the safety management systems of a club, centre or organisation The course is 2 days of supportive training with personal skills and rescues being assessed as part of this. The Paddlesport instructor  award is suitable for instructors who are introducing people to all types of craft, in a Very Sheltered Water Environment.It is seen as the ideal award for club and professional instructors who are going to introduce complete novices to many different types of craft, and start their paddling journey.The qualification is not discipline specific and is suitable for instructors who work with paddlers from any of the competitive and recreational paddlesport disciplines.

The qualification is designed so that the instructor can choose the craft from which they work(Open canoe , SUP, kayak , sit on top) and can look after others in a range of other suitable stable craft, as single discipline or a mixed fleet of craft.

Course Prerequisites:

Candidates require Full Home Nation Delivery Centre membership,

Home Nation Delivery Centre registration (this triggers additional access to relevant support materials and assist background administrative processes)

British Canoeing Foundation Safety Rescue Training Course ( 1 day rescue course which we also deliver these , please ask for more info or search rescue tab.)

Personal Paddling and Rescue Competence (these elements are assessed during the course)

14 years of age, or older ( additional safeguarding requirements will be needed so please check with us before booking)
